  • Hacked again - back running now

So we got hacked again - haven't these people anything better to do with their lives.

So the upshot of it is that we are now back running on the forum only. Everything else is now not available - chat, shop, gallery, members rigs, technical files etc.

    So what of the future....

Well now seems as good a time as any to go back to basics. We have a working forum but what we need is a fully working site that integrates everything. So I am now going to install a proper ground up designed Content Management System. Gonna use Drupal as it seems to be regarded as probably the best supported, most robust and secure of the Open Source / GPL content management systems. Will be integrating the Shop, Gallery and as much of the rest of the stuff plus the forum into the CMS however for all of you who have over the years put pictures and descriptions of your vehicles in the members rigs section, sorry but it won't be moving over. It was something I built from scratch and there is no way of porting it over onto a new system.

So the good thing anyway is this should make keeping up with security patches a lot easier and will mean it will be a good oportunity to update the look and feel of the site. Might even be able to add some new goodies to it as well.

It will take us a while to put this together so please be patient however it will be worth it in the end.

Good luck mate, hacking is an unpleasant constant in this game and I think, considering the age of the forum software, that it's given a very good account of itself so far.

Make sure you start with a rock-hard CAPCHA registration!

Good to see it back. Theres no substitute for this place. theres "other" places to go when this one is down, but they are poor alternatives.

And of course there are other places where people just don't fit in.
