Milners are great(I live half a mile from them too) but there springs in my opinion are not, i have them on the back of mine and its saggy. we also had some on our work lwb cruiser and a week after they dropped, you couldn't get your foot in between the tyre and the arch with half a load in it or a trailer on the back. we now have iron man shocks and springs and they are great.

Long ones, it's the chassis you're holding up when you do the springs. Short ones are OK for other jobs.

I managed to do mine on a set of halfrauds axle stands (normal height) I jacked it up put axle stand under chassis and had to take wheel off before letting the jack down as the suspension travel put the wheel back on the ground!

Thanks for the advice, I'll have to get the rest of the kit together to do it as well ! The spring clamps I've sussed from machine mart,

Not sure weather i need the axle stands? I only have the Jack that's supplied with the car will that do ?
I thought typing in capitals (ie shouting) might have given a little clue.

I recently invested in a set of blue point 6 ton axle stands. They might be overkill for a surf, but don't skimp on the stands...if you don't want to possibly spend the rest of your life, at best, dribbling in a wheelchair.

I have pinched a set of axle stands from the council fitters they use them for bin lorries.....think they should hold the surf!

Nice working where I am.....My 3 workshops are made up from 2 old bin lorry spray booths!

Had the surf in one today out of the rain to strip all the dash out to replace the bulbs behind the speedo! and get rid of them horrible green covers on the bulbs!

For the record I don't even change a tyre without extra support under the vehicle. If I'm not near any axle stands I place a tyre (either the spare or the one I've taken off) under the body. So if it does come of the jack (and imho there is a good chance of that happening with the standard jack) it doesn't collapse completely to the floor.

NEVER, EVER, EVER WORK ON A CAR USING ONLY THE JACKS AS SUPPORT, it even says this on most car jacks, ALWAYS USE AXLE STANDS.

                              Yeah,
I've got some large off cuts of green Oak i thought could do the trick
But will probably take you guy's advice and go for some adjustable axle stands. Being self employed they are all Tax deductible anyway so it wont cost that much.

Cant wait for the work shop manual to come from Roughtrax so i can get a better understanding of the job.

Looked at the Super pro rear anti roll bar Bush kit as well, Think it's got to be worth fitting that at the same time as all the weight will be off them.

Thanks for all your help and advice Fellas. Cheers
