  • How have i done

Well got the Surf in August after many years of classic Fords then a Prodrive Impreza but with a back injury needed something higher and auto. Not a good start to Surf ownership with the head going a fortnight after i got it.So decided to do it right. After the new head, glowplugs, rad, belts, batte rys and some silicone the engine was sorted.

Then sorted all that needed doing on the suspension which was not a lot and fitted axle breathers(blue pipes in engine bay).Painted all the chassis and under the wheel arches(Got bored waiting for the head )So on to the nice bit's snorkel, wheels, hub's,clear indicators, spoiler then a realy good wax.
Inside fitted tweeters front and rear, gauge pack and also has a clean ace unit was not sure on the dash and steering wheel but getting to like it now.May go for a 2" body lift in time but leaving it how it is for now.Funny but i am having more fun in this then i did in the 2 years of owning the scooby even with the problems
    Hope you like her.

Is that a plastic cover on the horizontal black part of the A bar? It looks like a standard bar that normally has a TOYOTA logo and 2 chrome trims either side, but yours looks all black?
I'm missing the 2 chrome bits so looking at options. Any chance of a close up of the A bar?
Oh and welcome to the shiny Surf club. Think you're up there with Deiselboy!

Thanks for the coments glad to see i am going in the right direction
The shiney bit comes from show cars my last Capri was used in Ashes to Ashes. The surf took a bit of work but after it was clay bared a couple of times then a low grade paste for the fine marks. This was followed by a conditioner,2 coats of polish and 3 coats of wax.The interior was Shampooed and plastics treated. The engine was steam cleaned before being taken apart then polished before it went back together with any black parts being repainted.

Here's a pic of the bar.It did not have the cross bar when i got it so found a piece of square bar the right size to take the spots then slotted one end so it fitted on to the standard mounts. Also run the wire's for the spots inside the tube so it all comes out one side.

Got to say when i got her she was in a bit of a state but did not cost me a lot. Then the law of sod came along so now owe's me the better part of £2.5k.Think this one will be with me a while

Best colour for a surf too hehe.

I know exactly what you mean about enjoying the spannering etc I spent an hour stripping the broken aircon off of mine, and almost wished it had taken longer lol
