Rear window drive gear..tiny piece !

Hi folks..just started, so thought I would begin with what looks like a very old & common subject. Just bought my first Surf ( 2.4 manual '92) first fault I found was that the rear window just don't work. Being a bit handy I took the panel off and after going through the obvious found that the small gear wheel on the motor is worn away. Looking around I am still trying to catch my breath at the cost of replacing the whole motor (yikes !!), so the question is, is it possible to obtain just the drive gear, as the rest of the motor works fine ? Seems a shame to ditch the whole thing...Anyone ?

passenger (near side) door one from a Carina or Corolla will fit also I think the one from an MR2 fits but you will need to swap the connector block over for the electrics

Hi Diddy and welcome.Where about are you in this wonderful county of ours.I will be collecting another breaker next week if thats any help to you for a motor.Like Koi says the n/s motors from the celica,corrolla,mr2 and also the hiace will fit.

Hi Stormforce, looks like you could be my new best friend ! As well as the window motor also looking for a good windscreen for the surf. I'm assuming at this age and looking at the beads, these are not 'bonded' windscreens so should be straightforward to go in (?)...any chance?

they are bonded screens but you are more than welcome to come and take one out if you want.I am going to salisbury Friday night to collect this other truck but if you need the window motor sooner then you are welcome to come down or i can post one to you.I should still have one on the truck i got here
