Torch / Flashlight

I'm after a decent torch to keep in the Surf. I don't have any spots, and sometimes it's handy to have a torch rather than spots which always face forward on the truck.

Doing some googling, I've come accross a torch made by a laser company called wickedlasers. They claim 4100 lumens. The only thing brighter than this is 5000 lumens but costs $2000, whilst the wicked lasers cost $300.

I managed to find a forum where there are torch enthusiasts. There is this one modified mag light, that runs about 36v @ 13 amps. There are pictures:

I quite like that, not only does it look like a light saber, but also seems to work very well.

i use a maglight its the size of a bat and only 20 quid from argos

When we were at school at camp some kid hit someone with one of those mag lites playing around.. knocked the kid out cold.

maglites are brill !! used a 6 cell maglite when i was with the film crews light up everything

I have a Petzl, (spellcheck) in the glove box, one of those fits on ya head, bright enough and hands free. H

OK, so these people do lasers?

They go to all that effort to collimate a light beam (laser) then de-collimate it to make a useable torch?
