Every Surf I have seen that comes with these seats have a shot to pieces drivers seat. And what can be done about the seat to repair it?

Is Recaro leather ? My Surf is a warm beastie anyway, certainly doesn't need hot sweaty leather in the Summer, and cold hard leather in the Winter.
