Hi Tony,

What parts do you make/sell for Surfs, I think Diesel boy had some spacers off you, what kind?

I'm going to be lifting my truck, so want 2" coil/BJ/Body spacers - where can I get some? I know outrageous offroad do them but who else?

I know someone had some plastic body spacers at Avalanche, where did they come from, were they any good?

I think you are right - what spacers did you get? what were they made of? Who did you get them for and how much?

Mark does coil spacers for adapting the LC coild to the Surf spring seats properly, and I think he did them either as a seat adaptor or as a spacer of whatever thickness you need. He probably also does standard spring spacers as its basically the same thing. I dont know of anyone else *on here* who does them. Roughtrax do them.

Body spacers? Nowt wrong with plastic. Them not being cut straight has nothing to do with the material. Not sure how they wouldn't be straight unless they're a garden shed bodge, as normally you'd face them in a lathe. I have the materials and the lathe, but wouldn't 'get out of bed' as it were for the money people generally want them for. Not worth my effort - Mark & Tony will tell you the same.

There was someone on here (Steve S I think) who got some from eBay for a very reasonable price, and he had no complaints (other than them not being the length he asked for)

Are you sure you can't be bribed? I'm after some spring spacers just to lift the rear 2" and some body lift spacers, also 2" - Ball joint spacers I'll have to buy elsewhere as they can't be turned on a lathe

There's a drawing here mate if you want to get someone to make them for you. Got a mate at work to do mine on the lathe (got the aluminium free as well!)

Same mate made my body spacers as well (free aluminium again!)

That's a great thread but unfortunately I don't have access to a Lathe, I might be able to get BJ Spacers made, they wont be pretty but they'll work - they'll be made of 12mm thick mild steel with holes drilled x 4 (48mm total) for each side - or I might just buy some if I can find some at a reasonable price!

Spring spacers are pretty large diameter (about 6" for the LC ones so pretty costly). I dont have material to do those, but I do have a load of 2" nylon rod (body spacers). Like I say though, it takes a wee while to do them, and I'd charge as much if not more than Mark, who's geared up for it cos when the weather's nice I'd rather be on the bike or outside the pub than in the workshop churning out nylon pucks.

No offence intended, but last time this came up, there was lots of talk like "they dont take long yadda yadda - not that expensive blah blah". I say to those people, go buy a lathe, learn to use it, then come back and tell me how much you'd charge.

You re use the boot floor bolts on the side mounts, so you need to buy new high tensile bolts for the rest. Might have some thou, will check.

Thanks Yoshie, What size bolts should i get? There is nowhere near me that sells bolts, so I'll have to order them

Your in west london, surely someone supplies near you? not got a screwfix or the like. I canny remember the exact length you need, around 8" I think, its been a while since I body lifted a 2nd gen. Someone on here who has recently done a lift will know.
Failing that I will probably be able to lay my hands on some.

There is a screwfix not too far away - I'll be able to find some - I assume the size (diameter) is M12 - length about 220mm should do all of them?

For a 2" lift, you'll need 2x130mm, 4x140mm and 4x180mm bolts. I think standard bolts are 10mm, but some folk say to go up to 12mm.

I doubt Screwfix will do them long enough or 8.8s. There will be a supplier close to you, it's just a matter of finding them.
