Sounds like it was a good journey home!

You don't need to rev it to get the wheels to spin. Once the turbo has come in the rear wheels will break free gently
    Oh Nana, what's my name?

pussy its more fun with a flat out rev

i miss my old 3ltr i 24v seniter stight six with manual box
now that spun in every gear at any speed up to 1 something
i could fish tail that car for ages
power slid like blue ars3d fly
it was an old cop car even tow copers pulled me just to have a look
i once raced a coper down the m180 at 70mph tho
i dint trust him even tho he kept asking me to floor it

man i loved that car it just rusted away so i give it to a stock car racer
and before any one says owt about my driving
non of the speeding spins or power slides were done on the road

on private land or air stips lots in yorkshire it depended on were ya could pay to go

This is one of the reasons why I bought a 4x4, supposed to be more sensible. I had been lucky with being pulled over, years ago when I had the car I built the engine on, I was pulling away from a set of lights behind some cars and a filter lane joined ours. Car were being hesitant to speed up to 30, so I used the filter lane to overtake. As I went past this mondeo I noticed the front of it lift up to accellerate. I thought it was someone trying to race but didnt think too much of it as I went right past anyway. At the next set of lights the front grill of that mondeo lit up and I got a telling off. I apologised for driving like an idiot.
It's too easy for things to get out of hand. I kept meaning to do hill climb events. That way I could have some fun and be legal without putting anyone at risk / or minimal risk!

Here is a picture of that car

Slight thread hijack - my tunnel gets hot too - I've never cleaned the filter on the autobox, can it be done in situ or is it a box out job? might change the fluid using the two bucket method (I did it in dec/jan by draining it on the plug) and install a seperate ATF cooler - any advice greatfully recieved if I then ignore it!

It's just a strainer like the one in the engine sump.
Clean it with petrol or white spirit.

How do I get it out? can it be done without dropping the box?

Or is it more hassle than it's worth?

No need to drop the 'box, just remove all the 10mm bolts from around the edge of the pan, then you'll probably need to break the gasket seal with a stiff blade of some description.

When you've cleaned the strainer, scrape all the gasket glunk from the mating surface (including the transmission), clean out the pan and make sure the magnets are in their locations and apply some instant gasket e.g: Hermetite or RTV sealant before refitting.

You can't put your earth magnet in there Judwak - you'll never get the truck moving again

There's four in there, small flat magnets about an inch square laying on the bottom of the pan.
They're for collecting any metal particles in the fluid as it circulates around the transmission..
