The last episode of Question Time was there, and I've got to say I squirmed in my seat a few times listening to some of the ignorance and stupidity.

I'm sure Hartlepool is a lovely place and probably full of clever people, they just dont seem to get any press time though.

Hartlepool is the same as every other UK town, there's fools everywhere, obviously the line painters were under pressure from the council to get all these lines done so they could reap the benefits of parking fines from drivers who couldn't park anywhere else. It might be interesting to see how many extra areas of this town were kitted with double yellows which were not needed during normal periods as its not exactly tourist heaven up here apart from events like this one. As usual its too easy to apply fines to motorists to boost council coffers. H

There was a similar incident somewhere in the UK where white line painters left a couple of yards unpainted because of road kill. Their excuse? Not their job to move road kill, thats another department.

And the councils wonder why they're being so hard hit by cuts??
