Hello Welcome to the nut house.
Have a look at Stormforce's 3.0 for sale, I'd buy it if i had the cash.
2.4's have a bit of a history of head failure, 3.0's have more power too.

Had both but in my own opinion would go for the 3 L ...saying that the 2.4 had more torque i believe (might be wrong tho), and the 3L just has more oomph

                Hi there and welcome!

This is a cracking little place - one of the best online forums I've ever been involved with.

I'd second everyone's opinions on Stormy's Surfs for sale. He's a top bloke - 100% diamond geezer (well, that's probably what I'd say if I was a cockney!). He's very thorough with things and can be totally relied upon to be straight with you. If I was after a Surf at the moment I'd certainly have the 3.0 off him - he's got them pretty reasonably priced too (ie slightly cheaper than the going rate on fleabay, etc!)

I think you'll find everyone on the forum is willing to give a helping hand if they can.

And I've heard that Stormforce always leaves a pasty in the glove compartment.
                    Which is a bonus.

Hi Tom, and welcome. If youre buying, its not a bad idea to buy from a well respected forum member. Youll get a better deal, and theyve got their good reputation to think of....Enjoy....Cheers....Mick.

                          Reply to welcome

Thanks to you all for the kind welcome.Helped by the v useful info on the forum, was initially looking for a 3 litre, 3rd generation surf.Wanted to buy gen 2/3, 3 years ago,and so heard about the head problem for 2.4`s at the time.Bought a 92, 2.5 Pajero instead, and although its been v reliable, and given me good service for the last 3 years, lacks power and is not the quietest of runners. She who must be obeyed has instructed me to either sell the Paj or get shut of the rover 216 (which is currently being used for storing wood) to retrieve parking space.
Looked once again at importing, but weak pound against yen now erodes the benefits costwise ( but can still get low mileage, and newer models), so now looking in UK for a well maintained gen 2 or 3 diesel surf to get me started

Thanks, looked carefully at what Stormforce was selling, but think earliest time for me to purchase will be September when driveway space is made available.

No worries on the truck. The 2.4 i have has to be mot'd yet and has a 2 year old engine etc from the engine company in stockport. It will be a couple of weeks even before its ready to go up for sale unless someone wants it before hand.If interested closer the time and i still have the trucks then give me a shout. There are a few 3rd gens on ebay at the moment at reasonable prices aswell. Its well worth going to look a several surfs before making your mind up on which one you have.

                              Hello & welcome!

This is an absolutely brilliant site! I've never really used forums much before & this is the only one I have bothered to join. It is indeed a nut house, but everyone is extremely friendly & helpful. I cannot big it up enough!!

Good luck with the surf purchasing!

It's only kinky the first time...
