Sicne fitting my rear diff I've had this rattle that was hard to trace. I think it was because I tried lowering the front diff then found out the ARB is in the way..
Anyway, I went out tonight to check I had tightened everything up on the front and then took for a slowish spin. The rattle was still there. This time I was almost certain it was coming from the front wheel, so I locked a offside hub and drove away. Noise gone.
This happened before to the near side, but then it sounded like the tyre was hitting the arch on every rotation.
I have not greased these hubs. The manual didn't say to (I Dont think!)
The fix is to disassemble and reassemble :/ But my tools are a little too small to get the tiny hex bolts off. Should I use CV grease in there??
Cheers for the suggestions!
(I'm relieved it's not the rear diff! Was crapping myself that I would have to spend 5 hours removing it again! - next time I'll just do one thing at a time)#
They are the roughtrax ones by the way
