Careful is for the weak mate

Here's us last week about 1/2 hour after arriving at the Hereford Beerfest. Approx 150 beers on tap. You probably recognise Boyo. Also present are 'spanners', Keith, the top of my head, Anth and Jude. Pictures a few hours later became impossible though an excellent day was had by all.

The following day was written off really though...

not quite in keeping with the theme, but i stumbled upon this one saturday, in an Off Licence in Galway, west Ireland, made me chuckle, bought a few, strolled down to the spanish arch and enjoyed the sunset.....

Andy what a quality use of a weekend.
Wish I could have been there.

Last time I came close to a lost day was an offroading weekend where Alan tried to kill me with those Williams Brothers Ales

This will come as a shock to you all, but I have a, self imposed, Old Speckled Hen ban. It makes me very pass remarkable...

Don't get me wrong, I'm a nice happy drunk, I only want to kiss and cuddle folk (apparently this is an issue for blokes though?) when I have too many beers in me. OSH makes me a happy, but pass remarkable drunk. Too much of an enigma for most folk.

Real ale is too bowel loosening next day for me, its annoying, especially when camping, and also when its hot like this give me fizzy, cold Lager anyday.

The local Triple fff Brewery is where we get real beer for the kite festivals, its all really nice, Altons Pride is light and nice, and Moondance is great for evening sessions, but to much dosn't agree with me next day.

Altons Pale Ale was a good seller last festival, we sold 2 kegs in a weekend, and its only a small show with a hand few of drinkers going for it all night.

I do like a good pale. Marstons Old Empire is a cracker, but over 6% so its not a great session beer... except for short sessions I suppose.

I'm a bit of a stout fan too. Proper stout, not like the old Makkys liquid sugar in a can type stout. Just trying to think of the brewer of the 'oyster stout' at the Hereford festival. Delicious!

Actually, the beer of show this year was a lager! 'Bobs White Lion' - and it was feckin gorgeous! There is a big distinction between proper crafted lager and the likes of Fosters or Budweiser frozen p1ss though.

Dont you just love a good beer thread?

I dont think Ive ever tasted a beer that I either didnt like, or couldnt get to like, and Im including fizzy lagers in this. Ive been in places wheres there has been no choice, other than take it or leave it. Ive taken it, and sometimes thought "Im not so keen on this" but a few glasses later, a few days later Im thinking "this is not so bad really". My preference is a nice "session" type bitter or real ale, something that comes in at 3-4%.

Other than a real ale which is 'off' there's only been one beer I just couldn't drink. I cant remember the name of it, but it was dark like a ruby porter and was near undrinkable it tasted so strange. It had a kind of cough medicine taste to it and was really sweet and sickly.

My drinking buddy who would normally be able to drink ANYTHING even passed on it after drinking about an 1". I cant remember the name of it, but it has something to do with 'royal' or something. It was absolutely minging!
