If you're keeping it you need to drop it a little with spacers and longer bolts, I always forget about it cos I not had one for ages.

Can sort some one out if you want.

The front bolts stays, the diff pivots down towards the back. The exhasut limits how far you can go, then you need to cut the down pipe and put a extra bit of pipe in, either weld it, of use u bolts and bit of pipe.

I guess that you're referring to this:

      http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/sh...ight=diff+drop

For my own interest could you possibly list the mods you've done to your truck in the order you did them please? I assume that one mod leading to another (eg the diff drop cos the CVs being noisy will be pretty obvious but if you could add any problems you've encountered that would be brilliant).

I have plans for my Surf (don't we all?!) and it's always useful to see what other people did, why, and in what order.

Thanks Tony! Always around when we need you Although I'm a little dissapointed you're not booked in for Avalanche!

I have free wheeling hubs, so the front prop and shafts have not really been turned since the lift. I did put it in 4wd and drive forward and back a couple times and there were no noises. But now when in 4wd it clicks nearly constantly. There are times when it dont, I think it;s right on the limit. This morning, I tried to turn the nearside shaft around and it moved a bit then stopped, same in reverse. The other side turns freely. A friend of mine said to may be use a load of washers :-s .. What do you recommend? If it touches the exhaust its not a big deal, I can get it modified at longlife. I want a new 2.5" stainless one anyway.
ps. auto locking diff is now in and it;s great!

May be I did get arsey and yes 99% you will win - I don't normally get arsey with people. But today I was trying to be clear and be certain I wasn't making a mistake and missing something! Plus I was on my phone writing that as I had managed to lock myself out of my house and the car keys in doors.. So you could say I was a little frustrated!

I'd love to go, but it clashes with our clubs kite Festival and we have to run the bar and can't really get out of it.
