have you checked over the entire engine and made sure all the electrical connections are connected properly?
if you have an air line try shoving it in the fuel tank and pressurising the tank to force the fuel up the lines, crack off the bleed scew on the pump.

has it got an immobiliser on the ignition???? make sure this is working ok.

if all else fails put your ecu into someone else truck and see if it still starts,if it does then its not the ecu.then theres always a can of start you barsteward.

also check all the fuses including the glow plug fuse.

I'm gonna test the ECD fuse and relay tomorrow, all was working fine before head replacement.

dont you just love engine electronics. i cant for the life of me understand why engine manufacturers need to use these systems, yes they had to make engines more fuel efficient but electronics are soooooooo unreliable.

It just bugs me, but I 'will' fix it!!!

I tried an airline down to pump on inlet fuel pipe and switched ignition on, should I have gotten fuel at the cracked injector pipe end?

no you wont get fuel to the injector like that,i think all it does is circulate the fuel return system.

Does the pump have to be turning then to get the fuel up to injectors, I thought it might be open but going by your reply I suppose not.

if i remember rightly the rotary pump has an ecentric plate, that rotates and pushes small plunger type pistons in and out (a bit like a pressure washer pump), these then feed fuel under pressure to the metering head, tony knows more about these pumps than i do.im pretty sure you cant get fuel to the injectors without the pump turning.

there is one thing you could try, switch ignition on and remove the stop solenoid plug and then plug it back in and see if you can hear a click from it.

There's a small earth strap at the rear
of the head, to the bulkhead, make sure
it's fastened up, missed it on mine and it
                        would'nt start.
                        Hope this helps.

                        Gman.
If it aint broke, keep goin' till it is.
