Sports mode stuck on!

After I've done the body lift, yesterday I drove to Reading and back (twice) and noticed that the auto gearbox is just as if the ECT power button is selected.
What makes it worse is that the light on the dash has blown so I dont know when it's on. But, i'm pretty sure it is on.

Usually, when driving at say 50 mph, if you press ECT power then it will change down a gear and increase revs. This doesnt happen any more, and having the button selected or not doesnt seem to make any difference to gear changes.

I removed the button completely from the multiplug and drove up to 60 but this didnt make any difference so I reconnected it.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

my ECT button seems to make the surf drink a bit more with it on
but
in a 2.4 you feel nowt realy in power difference
just the diesel going down faster

i get 300km out of a full tank

has for you button
put a bulb some were else for now so you know when its on or not
easy to wire in

Sounds easy!
The ECT button on my 2.4 used to make it overboost. The ECT button on my 3.0 makes driving normally difficult as I would rather it change up sooner.

Thing is I'm not even sure where to look first.

under the consol it all comes clear
its very easy to see what gose were

just wire a 12v bulb in to the wire thats allready there
then that buld should light up
its just easyer than mending the dash bulb for now

it should work if all is ok

you can just make out the wires in this pic
one go's to the dash
other go's down (i guess to gerbox)
wire in to the dash wires dont cut em just wire in to them

its sounding like the od isn't kicking in and if so then i would say the ecu has gone

If it was working before the body lift, is it not possible that a wire has got caught somewhere and been pulled out as the body was raised?

the ecu will go at anytime.Its like the 3.0 i bought a few weeks ago.The guy i bought it from serviced the truck and 2 weeks later the truck wouldn't fire up.I got the truck home and bought in another breaker and fitted the ecu and i have now sold the truck on again with a years mot

OD kicks in fine. Gearbox lock up just before 60, and when I press the OD off button the gearbox changes

Its actually like ECT is pressed in and I just cannot turn it off at the mo... For example, if I'm cruising at 50 and want to accellerate a bit by pressing more on the accelerator, the gearbox changes down a gear to early just like ECT does when it's on, and also doesnt change up until later on too.

Thats what I thought. All cables to the ECU look fine, not really sure where else to look.

Does anyone know where / how the ECT POWER button is connected to the ECU or gearbox? Can I check with a multimeter if there is current somewhere?

I went out the other night, and now I'm not sure if it is really on or not - but pressing the button in doesnt seem to do much.
