  • Frozen tom tom

My tom tom appears to have frozen at a certain point every time i turn it on, is there a quick fix or does it need looking at.

Tried all the usual things like reset, turning on & off, downloading all the latest updates but still no joy.

    Its a one XL.
If its not broke don't fix it.

have you done an online update for it by any chance.I had this with mine but it was under a year old so i was able to take it back and exchange it at halfords
I did alot of reading up when my tomtom went for the 3rd time and there was something wrong with tomtom's online update program which kept freezing the satnav and nothing could be done to it.If its under a year old then take it back where you bought it from as there is nothing that can be done to fix it.If its over a year old then your buggared

Its about 3 years old now, i did an update & a system error scan but it came up as ok so im guessing its shagged then.

i would say it is.I don't update mine anymore as when i rang totmtom they accused me of breaking it on purpose to get a new one.I said why the hell would i break it on purpose just to get the same thing happen again,so they saidd to take it back where i got it from and exchange it.Unfortunately they never had another totom 1 in store so i had the tomtom 3 instead

Does that mean you have to drive all over the country now so it can learn the roads?

Halfruads in Llandudno refused to refund on a guys tomtom 550 as he'd update it 3 days after buying it, quoting that it was not in it's original condition,,and other rubbish about the software not being warrentied etc, that would apply with someone buying a PC and then re-installing the O/S but not a satnav with the manufacturars update on it.

Guy comes into my place quite often, told him I would have at least swapped it for him till tomtom get the update fixed..

I gave him a few pointers on what to argue back,... he got a refund.

Glad you fixed in the end I see lol

                peace
