will put photos on before weekend .all that's left too do is cut (i think)the floor so that i can select 4L and fit the bumper .looks alot higher than 2".would of liked longer bolts for the 4 rear spacers but did manage to get the nuts o0n but will change them in a week or so .the only other thing is you need two of you as i think it would be a sod doing the job on your own .but its a very cheep mod and makes a a big difference to the look of a surf .
thanks alot for all the help from members on here and a big thanks to growler for the brackets .

Could you not have re-used a couple of the original bolts that you took out for the rear points ?? I seem to remember doing something similliar

Oh and congrats on getting it done on your own

Hi, I came on here to ask about body lift, as I have all the bits to do it - was going to start on Saturday on my own..

I know to loosen the steering arm so that it slides up when you jack the body, and also to remove the front bumper and refit with the brackets. I have a 3.0 litre TD auto, is there anything else I need to consider? Did the auto lever and 4x4 lever remain connected when you jacked up? I see that you put you cannot select 4L, where do you go from here? Thanks!

Gear levers don't need to be touched, they're connected to the transmission not the body. If transfer lever won't pull back after the lift, remove the cover and file out where it touches the metal in the floor.
As you lift the driver's side, open the flap and check that the fuel filler tube isn't being pulled through.

well we (a mate and i ) finished the job this evening .must admit if i were to do it again i would set aside a saturday con a mate into helping me as it was a big help (thanks steve )yep same name .and would do it with out any worries even for me it was simples.again need to get longer bolts for the back (4) i think 7" would do .took it for a spin around the block and the steering wheel DIDNT come of in my hands and the body stayed attached to the chassis .will take it to work tomorrow and give it a thrash around the fields but if ok will have to use it for my week off work at the caravan as still got problems with the isuzu .
so here are some snaps not too god but you get the gist

                    before

                    after

Steve, I order a body lift kit which I havent looked at til just now. I have 10 spacers, Can you confirm where the mounts are?
This link mentions there are 6 but also says 10 blocks are required. I greased up a load earlier in the week. Think there were two in the furthest rear, three in the centre of the car on each side between the front and back wheels, and two near the front bumper.

                          Cheers!

Much better, but it still looks like it has a bit of SAS?

ok mate there are 2 in the back (boot) 2 beside the rear seats 2 just behind the front seats ,and you don't have to remove the front seats .2 in the front foot wells and 2 behind the front bumper .it really is a simple job and believe me if i say that then it really is simple .but grab a mate for the day it makes all the difference .i did mine in the evening but a saturday would have been best.i only did mine like that because i was desperate as my isuzu needs to go in for repair and im going on holiday friday night .i used a trolley jack on wood blokes and a piece of 2x3 with a groove in it fore the lip under the door sill .but remember to loosen the 3 bolts on the steering column .believe me you cant be as useless as me when it comes to working on cars ,n i did it
