    as i haven't got side steps on my surf how do i jack the body up ,would it be ok just to put wood blocks on the underside of the floor were poss ?

    just put enough blocks etc on the floor then use the jacj to lift the body enough to slide the spacers in Steve

        Take a length of 3x2 timber that will fit the length of the sill. Run a groove down the centre of the 3" side and place that against the sill, then place your jack under the timber and lift slowly. Best to use a couple of jacks if you can spaced out evenly to spread the load.

        You couldn't have used the steps anyway as they wouldn't take the pressure/weight of the lift

          yea should be ok steve,if you use long thick pieces of wood so to spread the weight it should be ok.take it nice and easy when jacking up and keep an eye on the floor,just in case it starts to buckle up.scaffolding planks are pretty good a few cut up to around a 3 foot length should be ok.use a jack at each end.

              i got a lenght of timber 2x2 put it along the sill and jacked it up with a hi-lift. simples
              Surf.gone but not forgottendisco now gone aswell

                most side steps are to rusty to fit it up on anyway, lol, its always better to jack off the sills with a long bit of wood the whole length of the sill.
