  • Fitting a new wing

    Hello all,

I need a new near-side wing for my surf as it's knackered. I was going to buy this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Passenger-Side...item35a939b523 But wanted to know, will it fit my 1983 model and are they easy to fit as I am a tad rubbish at things like that? An, and, and, My surf is that dark red color, is that a standard color or did they differ between 92 and 93?

    Cheers

    Bud
I told the butcher I'd give him £25 if he got the meat down off the top shelf. He said he couldn't. The steaks were too high.

      OLD POST

Just fitted a snorkel to my 2nd gen

what fun getting the wing off...

If you ever do this , you need to remove the front passenger side light, theres a bolt behind it, also behind the front bumper as it curves around just in front of passenger front wheel, if you can drop the bumper 2-3 cm ..theres a bolt.

and two in the door one top (open door its visible) one bottom, at the bottom of the door you will see a 10mm nut this lets the mud flap drop off (make sure screws in the wheel arch are off)
with the flap off you will see the bolt....

With my mechanical incompetence I am fully expecting the snorkel or entire wing to rip off at speed as I'm driving...

I rebuilt my truck after a wee bump, I used an aftermarket wing, the fit was rubbish, so ended up with a genuine Toyota wing, pity about the colour.

Green wing was much better fit and quality.
