    anyone got any reconditioned ones?

was gonna get a new set from roughtrax when i buy the disc and pad set from them but i dont think i can afford two new calipers aswell! (saw the price)

would i get away with my current set untill i get paid on june 25th, as they shouldnt effect my new discs and pads.

if the calipers aren't siezed up then you should be ok to keep using them.If the rubbers are worn then just buy the refurb kit for them

thanks storm, just checking out the price of brake pads and discs from milners and roughtrax.

is there really a difference between genuine toyota pads and the aftermarket ones?

surely they have to conform to regulations and do the same thing.

I fitted the roughtrax ones and not the genuine toyota ones on my old truck and they were just fine.I prefer roughtrax over milners myself especially after the last delivery i had from milners.
I had some springs delivered so i can send to Ireland for someone. The couriers just threw them over a 7ft gate and into the flower beds. They were lucky the never missed the flower bed and hit one of the dogs

i would have been a little miffed myself at that.

ill be getting the roughtrax ones as i need to get a few other things from roughttrax anyway.

like a gallon of ATF fluid....why do they only sell it in one litre bottles??

looks like my week off is going to be filled with tinkering fun!

correct me if im wrong, but does the ATF sump simply unbolt, comes off, i clean out and then rebolt on?

or is it not that simple.

im not at risk of taking the sump off and then having half my gear system dislodged or fall out?

just take out the drain plug at the bottom like you would for the oil change. You will only get about 3-4l maybe a bit more from doing it like this. Its a lot of work taking the atf sump off

You can do a proper ATF swap by using the ATF cooler inlet and outlet pipes and a lot of fresh ATF.

Locate pipes under rad, identify which is inlet and put it into at least 25 litres of ATF, put other pipe into waste bucket and run truck, move through gears whilst stationary and when waste ATF runs the right colour you are done.

might give it a go if im feeling confident enough to locate the right pipes.
