Going to buy some oil for the darling, which grade is for the 2.4 td ?

i was thinking a thicker grade but after a search of the technical forums, I am still a little confused...

is there a manufacturers recommended type?

The best recommendation I heard for oil was to buy the half price brand instead of going for expensive brands and change it twice as often. It's stood me in good stead over the years...

I've got no doubt that there is some merit in all this "magnetic" etc stuff that the big companies create but I always reckoned it was better to have fresh, clean oil than all this fancy dan bells and whistles that make for a good advertising campaign.

because the surf needs the engine oil changed ever 3-3.5k then the cheaper oil is ideal for what you need.I just use the halfords cheap stuff when i done mine

the last time i helped change a brake pad set was on my grandads ford cortina when i was about 6!

i take it that its not as simple as remove and replace as i see a brake pad pin set etc...

the front pads are easy enough to do.Take a front wheel off and see what needs doing in order to take the pads out and then order the parts you need

Check the condition of your pad pins before ordering your bits.I did'nt and had to order new pins leaving me off the road for another four days.

ordered the pin set anyway as i wanted it ordered today so i can work on it as soon as possible.

ill decide on oil once i get to halfrauds, depending on whats there.

didnt someone say two stroke oil was good for the engine in a tank of fuel?

I think the two-stroke oil you're referring to was part of a recipe someone posted for running on veggie oil.

oh, thought they meant it was good for the engine whatever as most fuels have less sulphur in them, which is what helps or lubricates them better or something.
