Legal length for trailers

For the officionado's What is the longest trailer you can legaly tow behind your Surf ?

i think with a caravan its 27 feet and 7 f 2 ins wide

Thanks for that info We are arguing about a flat bed trailer at the museum and some bright spark is expecting me to fetch some bits from Yeovilton RNAS and having driven down some of those country lanes i think he is having a laugh ! I think my best bet is to sign up Stormy !

Thanks Rich, if DSA sort the payments out I will ring you and we would most definitely cover your extra expenses ! Its not heavy ( a tail section off a Lynx helicopter) no gear box no blades etc will be wrapped with formers for transit etc they thought they were doing us a favour by taking it to Yeovilton but it may still be at Gosport so will update and see what you want to do ? thanks for the offer !!!

Thats ok John.If it needs collecting from Gosport then just give a shout and i will take that route instead of the A30 M5.Its a slower route and a bit longer but i can sort it for you anyway.I got ratchet straps to secure it down if need be aswell.Any idea on the weight of it aswell.My trailer will take 2t easy enough

just under three quarters of a ton all up , they will lift and place on trailer for you all papers will be ready all you have to do is sign for cargo etc anyway I will give you gate number etc when we know we have release docs etc, Nigel says we can go to 40p per mile ,you happy with that ?
