      You are partly right though Alan, TVR did develop and manufacture their own V8 engines a few years back, but up until then they used Rover supplied V8s.
      Who ever owned TVR at the time that BMW bought Rover, apparently said something along the lines of.... "I'm not having anything bl00dy German in my cars!" so they made their own engines/parts.
