  • Looks Like I've Got An Oil Leak - Help!

    Evening All

I noticed a few spots of oil on the drive this morning. Some don't look brand new. I had a look under the old girl and saw this ...

Any Idea where I should start looking for the source of the leak?

    Cheers

      Hi mate,

      I take it it's a 2.4?
Looks just like mine did before I changed the cam cover gasket,
don't forget to put a small bead of sealant around the front part
when you renew it. The fan blows oil all over the place and makes
it hard to find the leak, but that's my first call.

      Gman.
If it aint broke, keep goin' till it is.

Looks like thats coming from higher up and spaying all over the place.

Benefit is that it's undersealing the car whilst you drive.
        Oh Nana, what's my name?

My driveway at home is totally rust free, that's because
            it's oversealed!!!

Thanks everyone. I don't have a jet wash so I guess i'll have to get under and give all a good wipe down. Any tips on which areas to concentrate on?

If you're talking about the engine get some Gunk, paint it on and then take it to your local garage and use the jet wash.

If you're talking about the drive my dad swears by Swarfega Drive & Patio Cleaner. Pour it on, scrub with a yard brush and then wash away with the hosepipe. Apparently works a treat.

Sorry, couldn't resist, but you were leaning against an open door with that question.

Sometimes you can do harm with a jet washer.
Go and buy some Jizer, spray it over the top of the greasey bits and hose it off. Cuts through grease and lube.
