Ok seriously take your truck to an air con specialist and they will service it.. simples...

If they start saying things like 'we don't have the adapter for that fitting' then jump in the truck and go to the next on the list.

        Bugger!

I missed the June/July thingy - well done everyone! I only seek to get my air conditioning running properly - even if it is the only one in the UK!

Sorry guys it's been a long day - I was hoping someone could tell me if the connections were 1/4" x 13mm or 3/16" x 16mm and if anyone knew where I could get any ND-8 compressor oil from?

Think Tony said some time back that you wont likely need oil, and any aircon specialist will be able to regass it without you having to buy adaptors etc.

Anyway, you're only going from bl00dy Banbury to Fairford!! What's the matter with you? It's hardly baking in the UK is it? We did over two weeks in South of France / Northern Spain on dusty hot trails last year in August with no aircon (I had it, but couldn't be bothered fixing it) with the windows down. Flippin nancy boy!!

                    Not touched my aircon but,............
ANY decent aircon place will answer your queries about the adaptors, the gas and the and oil, then regas it for you and youll be off!

Last time I messed with aircon was on my car in Texas had the same issues no push fit adaptors and needed regassing. Adaptors cost me a fiver from local autoparts store and came as a pair one bigger one smaller to fit the ports. I first applied a vaccum to the system then used a gp aircon oil and r134a amounts IAW the manufacturers specs. I had access to all the tools needed to do this and with out them it would have been impossible, it is easier to take it to an aircon specialist if you dont have them.

Hi bit late but just search and wade through the threads as this particular thing was done to death last year if i remember right http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/se...9&pp=25&page=2 but if you are a bit short on time this should help....... http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/sh...ghlight=aircon
If the truck has been over here a while it should have the new (safe well ish) type of gas in it i would have thought but ..... Anyhow it gets really hot over here (wouldnt know it at the moment tho), and only needed a re-gas (DIY for about 15 quid a can) engine running, turn on aircon, turn on fans full, connect re-gas can to 'L' nozzle (didn't need the adapter kit) and push button and away you go...when its full it will just blow the connector off (from the can), or you can take it to a specialist and get them to do it properly

The sh$t gets deeper ...but still swimming

Haven't done this as mine is working fine but it does still have the old r12 fitments by the looks of things, has all the stickers ect stating that its filled with r134a gas though.
As said though, maybe better off taking it to a specialist but if the op is insistant on doing it himself then these adaptors may help, they do the refills as well.
