  • Just bought a Surf

    Hi

I have just bought a Surf and never owned one before so I wondered if anyone knows where I can get some 2nd hand parts for it, I'm looking for a new carpet for the boot and some parts for the chairs, and have a sticky back window, that needs some attention if anyone has any ideas.

    Any suggestions would be great

    Thanks

    Emma

As for the sticky back window, a bit of Mr Muscle should clean it off, and in future dont lick it after eating sweets.

                  HI

Thanks for the replies. The back window motor seems to stick as the window doesn't rise or fall without some gentle persuasion. Have tried some wd40 but didn't really help, anyone else had this problem before?

Thanks for the advice and friendliness given so far.

                          They're a right helpful bunch aren't they Emma ?

Usually the sticky back window issue is just down to accumulated dirt - drop the window and give the exposed track a damned good clean and then see how it works.

A bit of lube afterwards will probably help too - I can't remember what the usual suggestions are cos I haven't had the problem yet

                          PS
Welcome to the asylum - just remember that some of the people in white coats are inmates ...

Hi and welcome to the Looney bin
open your window spray liberal amounts of silicone spray down the rubbers it will clean and lube at the same time and wont dry out like WD40 it also wont collect the dust and you can get it at most car spares shops
I NEEED MUD.....and Welsh spring water!!!

Furniture polish in the rubber tracks where the windows sit - cheaper than buying specialist silicone lubicrant but similar enough stuff as makes no big difference and it makes your truck smells nice too.
