Hi ,the fuel line to the tank is clear i blew down that when it first conked out,Is the fuel primer the unit which is fitted to the bulkhead passenger side which the fuel filter is connected to and has the black button or plunger which you press down till its hard,if it is,in my last post i described that i isolated the primer by putting the feed pipe for the injector pump directly into a gallon container of diesel,,,, so in fact the container was acting as the fuel tank,,

Yes, yes and yes. The fuel primer is the culprit here. One of the breakers on here can supply you with one.

thanks for your reply much appreciated,but if you refer to my posting ive isolated the primer pump from the problem and gone directly to using the pipe which feeds the injector pump by putting it directly into a gallon container of diesel,and as i said it ran for about 20mins then conked out

Hi everyone ive finally sorted my prob,after the mechanic diagnosed and fitted the pump,and had an auto elec out,i sorted it myself,actually by accident,my last stand was fitting an ECU,but it still didnt start so i just stared into the engine bay,then i saw it,a broken wire the one that comes from the unit on the top of the pump just by where the injector pipes go,it must have been just on the verge of breaking totally when the surf stopped running,so i wasnt getting a proper signal,any way an expensive fix..thanks to all who tried to help

Glad you had a successful resolution matey. Pity it was so expensive in the end but I suppose such is life.

Now you can get out and enjoy your Surf out on the road (or off it!)
