it's dried fish fillets, quite thin which is sun dried (which is why it was banned from importing) at an indian resturante thye scewered it and stick it a tandoori oven, at home i just smeared a little butter on and grilled em, its crispy when done, only takes a few minuits, smells like a SOB,
it's actually not indian in origen, it used to be stored on board sailing ship of nelsons time, dried fish, salt beef, dry buscuits etc, lasted a while without going bad,
