Thinking of fitting an aux temp gauge. Demon Tweeks supplies units to fit 30 or 35 mm hoses. Which is suitable for a 90, 2.4?

The thread states ,"the 35 fits the top hose". However its also stated the hose is 32mm. Must be a squeeze getting one in the other. Just didnt want to buy a 35 to find it wont fit.

Looks very good mate, i fitted some didgital temp gauges for the veg oil tank they are nice, those indiglo dials do looks the dogs, i should have gone for them instead of buggering about sticking a couple of thousand led's in there, you need my heater controlls lighting upgrade in there!!

may have been mine i think i did post it, anyway aint too hard to do but it means removeing the unit from the dash which is a pain, or mayby try contacting our old friend Rod Leach, i made one up for him once but he never fitted it (shows how impressed he was with it) then ya could just swop em over plus run a panel lights feed and neg,
when i was more enthusiastic i upgraded all the interior lights and switches, dunno why toyota bothered with some of the switch lights, dam near invisable unless its pitch black, i had the truck best part of a year before i noticed the drivers door master switchs had lights in em

I went for the 35mm and it fits with no leaks but the packaging on the hose said it would take a tollerence of 2mm either side to provide a water tight fit. I drained out the coolant til it was below the top hose, took it off and measured it, my theory was I would rather stretch the hose a little over the pipe for a good fit than have the pipe smaller than the hose.

Yeah, stretching the hose is better than a smaller fitting that would probably leak, or have the hose blow off, but this may also have a detremental effect on the hose over time. Solution is but the correct fitting. There's plenty out there in the 32mm size.
