        Thanks,

        Ray.
An open diff, LSD, Locker, etc... all hold the ring gear, and the driveshafts go into them, they are the 'diff'. You can't fit a locker to a LSD, because they are the same part, not because anything is different.

Thanks for all the info. Answers that make up a sentance are so much more helpful than single words.
I've just been reading up on the Toyota diff setup. Detroit lockers are quite expensive and a little out of my price range really. I've found another forum (australian I think) who have said these are quite good, and theyre cheaper:

You asked 2 closed questions, if you want long winded technical replies, ask for them.

I think, from what I've read, Lockright are the Yugo of their ilk.

Sorry could you explain what Yugo of their ilk means? I've never heard that before. Thanks.

I'm saying they're not that good. A case of you get precisely what you pay for.

Yeah from what I have read people don't like how they lock up. I haven't read of any breaking though??
The lock up part is either full off or full lock.

People have said these are good for the money on Yotatech

I don't think anyone here has a locker. But I may be wrong.
