  • Faulty Fuel Gauge

Did a few things on the surf this weekend, fitted running boards (thanks Bill), new front bash plate, greased UJ's and changed the speedo face for a mph one.
Ive been having problems with the fuel gauge not working, while the clocks were out i noticed the fuel gauge itself was very stiff hardly moving at all by hand, i took the gauge from the clocks and tried a bit of wd40 and wiggling it, put it all back together and now there is power to it but its stuck on full now.
can the fuel dial be bought seperatly? and does anyone have one?

    cheers, james
My brakes dont work, so i made the horn louder.

How comes you changed the speedo face? I really don't like mine. It has been changed from KMH to MPH but now my speedo has a max speed of 160MPH on it I would of rather it still had the original Jap face. But it's minor.

Not sure about the fuel gauge are they even supposed to be moved by hand? Are you sure it's not the float in the fuel tank that's sticky? I've had that happen on a very old Ford when it was sitting for a while.

It might be showing full if the guage is earthed? I'm just guessing here. If you disconnect it from the power it should drop to empty.
    Oh Nana, what's my name?

it was not working at all but i freed it off a bit, when i put it back together it started moving up again and now its that stiff its stuck there.
I would prefere the original dials but im a bit useless at converting

Looks incredibly like the light up dash of a Lexus (They apparently have issues in themselves - If you do have any probs let me know. I know a Lexus specialist)
