  • Exhaust heatshield, on or off

I have just took the whole exhaust off my Surf and the worst bit was the one nut on the downpipe next to the block. The heatshield takes quite a lot of room. The exhaust I have bought doesn't have the heatshield. Is it Ok to put it on without it or do I have to transfer it over from the one I have took off?

Put it on mate, the whole point of it is to dissipate the heat away from the chassis. Worst case scenario is that your carpet catches fire.

Removed mine when i made the 3" system up, no probs with heat transfer etc, but a 2" body lift helps, long as the pipe aint touching anything it'll be fine, all that $hits just needless weight and a bugger to work round
