May I bring your attention to avogadro's constant, which tells us amongst other things, that there are 6.23x10^23 molecules of gas in one mol....irrespective of what the gas is. This mol must obey bernouillis equation..you know p1,v1,t1 = p2,v2,t2, ie two mols of gas at the same temperature, pressure and volume. Contain avogadro's number of molecules.
Now if two containers, one containing butane and one containing propane, each had one mol of each inside, their weight would be similair...in fact totally equal. Now of you meant one gas had more volatiles, and not quite so much source bound up on a nuclear level, this not being energy that can be easily liberated, now your talking. They both contain an equal amount of energy, it's just one is more easily liberated in the form of combustible action.Hope I don't sound like a pedant
You know perfectly well what I meant, ya pedantic show off...
Sorry Mate but only passing on the message ? maybe some of the broad barnsley speak was lost in translation wot with me being from the swamp lands of doncaster and all that ?
What's this about Jets ?
John H,
ne'er mind, I know what your saying, mine is a ten year old van, they may have one of the posh new ones that extremely wealthy people have!
Jets, yes, I've worked on them at Warton (Bae Sytems) on flight line for donkey's, and we have a fleet of development, (and new production ones), and if something went wrong in the past, it was change everything bit by bit untill the damn thing worked! We like to think we're a bit more switched on nowadays, but sometimes you have to revert to type! Kind of interesting in a sad sort of way.
Things seem to have gone off at a tangent, thanks for your words of wisdom boys, I'll start with the thermocouple, then the thermostat, then a new oven, then a new 'posh' caravan, then I'll stick my head in a bucket of s#!te!!
Oh' and I'll use red from now on.(I can never rememember what's propane and what's butane!)
Propane is usually, but not always, in a Red bottle which will usually have the word 'Propane' on it?
I think I've sussed it now, easy I suppose, Butane (B) is blue. (B). Blue Butane!! Easy in it?
It would have been easier if it was Ropane! Red Ropane! You get the point.
