3.0ltr td auto owners please help me

i'v always like the 3.0ltr td surfs and iv just sold my ute looking for somting more nicer on the old back and neck was thinking about a normal 2wd car but i just cant go back to a normal car for sum reason i love my 4wds even thoe i dont get to go enuff

i test drove a 95 3lrt td auto today and really liked it only thing it had a oil leak or few, sump rear main or somting and i loaded it up and got it over heating, got it back to the yard and coolent system had no pressure in it so any way might give that one a miss ..blah blah blahany way

just want to ask a few questions...

    1. Are parts hard to get hold of , seals, gaskets ect...... ?

    2. Do parts cost more then most 4WD's? say an 80 series

    3. What are they like on fuel
. what do u get out of a tank (how bigs the tank)
. how many LTRs per 100KMs

    4. what should i be paying for say a nice 95 model

    5. reliable?

    6. Good down the highway?

    7. any thing else please tell?

    Hi N Welcome Bud
I don't know if ya would be better off looking on the Aus site.

    1. Here in the UK most things can be got.

    2. Swings n roundabouts really compare these..
    http://www.milneroffroad.com/
    http://www.roughtrax4x4.com/index.php?doc=1

    3. Depends what size tank ya got, some claim 55l some 66l or 75l "long range tanks", mine personally 65litre tank = 430 miles

    4. Over here in the Uk ya can pick a really clean 95 up for £1500 - £2500

    5. You bet !! Although some 3.0l have had heads go !!

    6. Yes..

    7. Spend some time browsing through the site, Aus site too..
Hope this helps n good Luck
    Jess

If it is of any use to you,I have a 3lt 97 ssrx and paid £3300 2 years ago for it.I drive it pretty hard and use it to carry tools and sometimes timber/sheets of ply etc I have not really off roaded but have certainly had it at abusive angles!! It gets serviced regular and hasn't cost me a penny on parts or has so much as a weep in the engine bay so just get one!you will love it!!

Agree with all of the above, except for price, which will be wildly different in Straya because you pay much less for jap cars and much for european cars than we do, which I guess makes sense.

You're very welcome here and you can keep on asking questions, but these fellas may also be able to help, and be awake at the same time:
