  • Hgv Adr

Off to a meet and greet tomorrow to see about getting trainned for my hgv2 adr licence.Hopefully if i can get on the funded trainning course then i will be able to get local work permenantly which will get us out the shite money wise.
At least if i can get this then i will be in and out the lorry so i can excerise my leg and will be better for me.
Has anyone else got this licence at all that can give some pointers on getting through the test etc

Ah guess it might be the same as the HAZMAT one then... v.boring but easy enough test if its the one im thinking about (was about ten years ago tho) is this right? http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question...8114458AA5XtPx if so its just the old c and maybe c+e (light truck and trailer) hazmat still applies for fuel or dangerous materiel?

Hiya Richard, LGV as it is now is upto 32 tons non articulated, get yourself onto the Frieght transport association website or the Road Haulage association website and you will find all the info you need, basically covers all aspects of the carriage of dangerous goods, from paint to acid and other goodies, for the ADR license you will have to show good knowledge of differant dangerous goods and what ones cannot be mixed in the same load, and what to do if it all goes pear shaped, lots of study but worthwhile as it will get you extra money on your wages, good luck mate.

            hi richard
did my class 1 about 23 years ago so any advice on that would probably be out of date but renewed my adr last year.
its a weeks course set out into modules and at times you think that it can get abit head fxxk but its mostly all common sense and the person who is running the course will run through what is applicable to the exam just before you do it so its not too bad. the pass mark is about 75% but I have been on courses with some right dead heads on and they all seem to get through so you should be ok.
when you get your adr certificate dont forget to sighn it if you dont its a £200 fine if it is inspected by plod and he finds that it is not sighned.
