  • Rear silencer question?

Not sure if this has been covered before but was wondering if anyone had fit/adapted a SS silencer on a 3rd gen.

Im meaning gone to a shop & bought just a back box with the same bore, chopped some of the back section off the standard pipe & fit it.

I can't be bothered ringing round places to have one custom made so i was hoping that someone had done it without having to weld or mess about.

I know im grabing at straws but hay hoo, worth an ask.
If its not broke don't fix it.

3rd gen doesn't have a back box, from just in front of the rear axle back it's just pipe.

Or are you meaning doing away with the big box and just running a rear muffler?

I'd leave the centre box as it is & fit a rear muffler but ive just been to put the truck in the garage & had a quick look & i can see its not possible because there's a big gurder smack bang at the side of it.

I'll scrap that idea, thanks anyway mate.

      I should have looked first.

Cheers john, are you getting a quote for the lot or just back section?

I thought about the whole system, I will ask for a full break down of costs, the Garages are all on the 'Carr Hill site Ex International Harvester tractor plant each unit specialises in automotive stuff ie I used Custom paint shop etc and saw the Stainless steel exhaust fabricators next door, they had a couple of Nissan Skylines in and a Prado all having custom jobs done.
