Wiggy, as our Italian rep on here, I need your help.

I have heard that in Italy they have large second hand/antique furniture warehouses. I am looking for one around Trieste or Venice. I have tried the interweb but I don't know Italian.

    Know anything?

Thanks fellas, I remember a TV show a few years ago (one of these makeover in the sun type jobbies) that involved buying furniture from one of these places. Apparently Italy has loads of them, with good prices as well.

Yea have one near us crazy place looks like steptoe and sons place on a bad day! Saw it when i was up at the rememberance day proceedings in Anzio.
Havent been inside but has got everything from broken pots to edwardian tables all piled together. Tried googleing but not having much luck for larger places (lots of small ones in Venice city centre) will have a look tonight when i get in from the shops if i have time if not i will get one of the locals on the case in the mornin and should have an answer by nine (once they have had a coffee and explained to me the history of antiques in italy lol)
Very roughly its magazzino (warehoure/storeage area) or mercato (market - Italians very keen on them)
          Venice magazzino di antique
          Venice Mercato di antique

          Trieste magazzino antique
          Trieste Mercato di antique

              Sorry Slobbo,
Have Spoken to the folk at work and they only know markets in the local area such as http://www.ilvecchiotarlo.it/mobili.htm ......would have thought just drop the Venetian tourist board an email and they would set you right. Its about 6 hours or so from me so cant even take a spin up.

                  Hi Robert,

What would you like to know. There is a quarterly antique market a San Maurizio and a number of antique shops.
