I ran with ARBs off for a while, but ended up putting the front one back on after a while.

Two reasons I did this. Most of your flex happens at the back cos there's a solid axle back there. Flex is limited on the front by due to the independent sus up the front on pretty short wishbones, so mainly all your doing by leaving the front off is increasing body roll. You wont gain much in articulation.

Your dead right I went in the brown stuff today and found the rear wheels spinning more than normal, evn pulling out of junctions on the main road If i accelerated like I normally do I found myself wheelspinning like a teenager so had to pull out slowly so's not to attract attention

ARBs have nothing to do with traction.

He's right, as i said there a comfort thing, a compromise between suspension and ride comfort, unless your throwing it around corners it wont make a whole lot of difference, it shouldn't wheel spin more with em off, anyway indivual choice wether or not ya take em off or leave em on, only took mine off to make it easier to do the camber setting, and aint bothered to refit as it not much diffenerce

I think it drives fine without it but on the single track roads, (which there are alot of in Shetland).
As the rear end is stiffer than the front it seems to cock a rear wheel on cornering or on a bend with adverse camber.
Roads in Shetland are nothing like roads on the mainland, its asif when they were built they just threw hardcore on top of peat-moorland, there are lots of roads that have been nicknamed after rollercoasters.
My wife owns an Astra which isn't lowered or anything but on some roads you have to drive to the verge or the car will scrape on the hump that has been made in the middle of the road, i am forever stopping to collect exhaust parts from the side of the road, some parts arn't even that old and are usually back box's that have been ripped off on a bump.

If you're lifting one of the rear wheels on a Surf when cornering, there's something very, very, very wrong with either your truck or your driving.

When I eventually get my finger out and replace my suspension (LC Rear springs, ES9000s all round, BJ spacers, new ball joints and TREs, Idler Bushes, wheel bearings (x4) and bronze bushes) I'll ditch the rear ARB but re-fit the front one.

Aye!! rear ARB's are just excess weight with LC springs on,
