I had a wet floor due to a very slight split in the windscreen rubber in one of the corners. Might be worth checking?
To fix, you can use a small amount of black mastic to fill the split.

      Update for y'all .....

I silicon sealed the plastic bung in the floor.

Then i held hose over nearside front drain hole of sunroof track - water drained from underside of sill where the metal edges are machine pressed together .... doesn't seem like a proper drain outlet though ??

I then noticed water was ####ing into floorpan from where there is a void in sill alongside the loom, and also water running down the plastic trim of the nearside A pillar.
However, i think i had the hose on a bit hard and expect the water was backing up the drain tube and spraying out the joints (wherever the system is joined)...... Clumsy !

I tried to take the 'jesus handle' off the A pillar in order to remove the plastic trim and try to inspect the drainage system. I wasn't having a good day as the scews holding the handle wont budge and are now rounded off!!

So i cleaned up the swamp, put it all back together and will have to see what happens next time we have a run of wet weather.

I am pretty confident it isn't a coolant/heater matrix problem though, which is something to be thankful for.

think i have traced the leak !!!

should have checked the simplest thing first really - pulled up the carpet and hosed down the roof/windscreen of the surf liberally. Checked inside car and water was running along the radio ariel lead and into the footwell.

Basically the ariel lead comes down steeply inside the wing to hole in inner wing which had no grommet in place. The car obviously drains water into the void between outer and inner front wings and position of radio ariel means that a stream of water was finding its way into the car !! Couldn't believe how much water came in so quickly.

Bought an ariel extension lead which gave enough slack to create a U bend out of cable inside the wing, ensuring water runs to lowest point and drains away. Also fitted 13mm grommet. Sorted.

        Happy Days !!
