Best thing to do is check with each network as to their coverage in your area I made the mistake of taking a contract with Orange only to find I couldn't get a signal at work or at home. 18 months is a long time!!!

I'd have said the same thing.
I had to change from T.mobile to 02 when i moved due to lack of signal but luckily i was nearing the end of the contract anyway.
If its not broke don't fix it.

Definately check coverage first mate, I swapped from Vodafone to Orange when Orange put a booster up half a mile away from me, always have a full signal now.
The last Nokia I had was the N95 so can't really comment on the X6 but I have the HTC Touch at the mo and can't fault it at all also have a look at the XDA Developers site, loads of info there and also various software addons etc, really helpfull people.

Thanks Guys...as always good info ! Tina has the HTC hd1 where the qwerty keyboard flips out or she can use touch screen as well, she has downloaded quite a few aps as well. The O2 people were trying to sell me the X6 as it being a smaller deposit than the hd2. I am going to give our son my N96 seeing as he wrecked his blackberry when he came off his bike, phone insured ? hell no Anyway thanks again

the wife just signed up to vodaphone, been with O2 for years but she managed to get me a samsung solid (water and dust proof) shock proof, tourch long life battery etc!!! i get 600 mins, unlimited texts and free web for £12.50 a month. it should be £15 but she got 2 contracts at the same time, managed to haggle for a phone she shouldn't have got on such a cheap contract so 2 contracts and 2 phones for £25 a month.... she couldn't beat that deal anywhere

I also have a HTC Touch diamond. I run a custom rom from the xda developers site which has sped up the phone and offered tons more functionality and ease of use (I run the same gui as the HTC touch HD2.

I'm waiting until I can get an upgrade for free and then I will be getting the HD2. It seems to have all the benefits of the iPhone plus a lot more.

At the end of the day it is still a phone, but since I commute a lot, I enjoy the benefit of music / radio or the ability to watch training videos on the train. The GPS comes in handy when I'm out and lost. And the wifi comes in very useful when I'm waiting for planes at airports, which has been very useful these passed two years abroad.
                  HTC make some great phones.

All of this excitement about the iPhone is just the Sony betamax affect, I think anyway.

Must admit the HD2 was very tempting but they wanted £200 for the Handset plus I still have to pay up to get out of my t mobile contract so got the X6 T mobile customer service ....

keep looking at Tina's HD1 mm android technology... have I done the right thing ???

Do you have a link to that? I wasnt going to say anything, but what I know of the HD1 it is actually windows mobile 6.1 with touchflo 3d user interface. It is basically the same as the smaller touch diamond except has a 800x600 resolution screen on about the size / little bit bigger than a credit card. The only other major difference I was able to find between these two was the HD1 has slightly more RAM than my Touch Diamond (and of course the bigger screen). They have the same 530MHz CPU.

As far as we know the HD1 is now discontinued ? the HD2 Hero is on its way now that the new HD2 bigger screen stuff is coming thru the tariff stream ie T Mob Voda, Telefonica etc. just been talking to our finance specialist who deals with mobile comms companies he says choice of tariff will change when orange merge with t mobile and prices may start togo back up ?
