    It should still start if the glowplug fuse has blown, it'll just take a lot more cranking and will splutter into life.

    The batteries need to be fully charged because diesels need to crank over quite quickly to fire up, especially when cold.


    The batteries are linked together, so if one of them is knackered, it'll drain the other quickly. Seperate (disconnect both terminals) or remove and charge them individually.
