The only problem with the proper tents is doing the weird figure of eight twist to get it back in the bag when you're hung over.

Moving the subject on, I am hatching devilish plans involviing something like this:



Extremely expensive but very cool (for a tent). I've slept in one a few times in Oz and it's definitely the future.

Very much like that. The only problem with those ones is that they're a little bit vulnerable packed up, with just a tarp over the top. I'd prefer something like a Maggiolina just because the hard case means I could leave it on the vehicle when not in use (I don't have a drive, garage or garden....)

Aye the Maggiolina ones are lovely, much more robust as you say. Much pricier too

When i went to Santa Pod a couple of years ago we had a big communal tent & all our smaller ones pitched around it. Was brilliant. We had fire eaters & performers etc in our group. virtually had our own village. Was an absolute blast!

Very true! For that we'd be best off with one of the add as you go tent's that were posted about on here earlier. Now that would be cool. As peeps turn up they just attach their tent to the main one.

i can just see it now that when someone turns up to attach their tent it will look like a maze in the endas long as the main drinking arena is in the centre so at least we know which way to go
