I'm assuming the P888 RJM is the plate the current owner paid for from DVLA - 888, then his initials?? = Private Plate.

It's rare to have a standard DVLA issued plate with three numbers the same - i.e. 888.

I would assume, given that he is advertising it as a private plate, that he has bought this from DVLA SOM and he chose 888 after the P prefix for the year, and his initials may be RJM - his name being shown as Rizwan - maybe his initial is J and his surname starts with M

Or - he could be trying it on.

I agree, it could be his initials, so the plate is not very 'private' unless your initials are RJM.

Look at the options on "Prefix style search" and it should become clear.

And yes, he is trying it on. Who cares what the registration is? It'll cost him £80 to hang onto it and transfer it to another vehicle!
