you're right trev. is it therefore possible to fit the new flashy white / blue thingy and get things calibrated to work....???
does that sound right....??? you know what i mean...!!!

It should be, but the "fix" installed to get it to display in MPH would need to be removed, then you should be able to swap the faces over.

I am sure one of our experts here can confirm or deny this for you, and hopefully provide a few pointers.

now that got me thinking......... how does everyones mileage read, in KM or miles....... with the 'fix' in place mine reads in miles....... so, could the speedo simply be re-calibrated to read off the 'new dials'......???

I have one of the hybrid type speedos that loads of us have here, speed in miles (to 100 mph max) and clocks in kilometres.

So it should be possible to re-calibrate it to read the new dials.

Most speedos, I would think, are like this.

With Planty's though, his odometer would up until the converstion be reading km and adding it in miles after. This means you would have to be very carefull about the claimed mileage when selling it.

On the gray bike seen there was a unit that you pluged into the speedo wires which converted from kmph to mph. If you have one of these it would just be a case of unplugging it. [I dont know if the speedo is electronic (with wires) or mechanical (rotating cable with gears)]

If you've been making a lot of calls I don't mind paying a bit more for the gauges - you should not be out of pocket for doing this for all of us.
