B3AVW Were you there in a Surf also ? I saw a Surf the same colour as mine with similar wheels down at Knicker Brook was that yours ? I parked as close as I could to it hoping to meet the Driver but I missed the owner.

Going back to the gauges, I hav been put off getting the guages from the US because the speedo goes to 110 over there, and 105 on mine, then there is the tachometer, and mine doesn't go anywhere near as high as theirs.

My Speedo Gauage is out by 10 mph any way since I fitted 32" tyres reads 30 when it is actually doing 40 but this can be changed / adjusted when I fit the new Dial faces. I'll check the Tacho though!!!

Andy, did you manage to find dials with the correct numbers on the speedo and tacho? All the ones I've seen are 110mph, and 8,000rpm, (as mentioned by Trev), like these, for example,

Hmmm, think thats the problem in the good old USA, diesels are rarer than the proverbial! The dials are probably for a V6 petrol 4-runner, of which there are shedloads, and as you know these do rev a bit higher than the trusty oil burners!
