The Ullapool trip sounds interesting, less than an hours drive from me via the ledmore junction, cracking ales in the seaforth too. Aviemore could be a good one too (lived there for 6 years, smashing place especially when there's snow on the gorms for a wee slide.

P.s. not too sure if anyone's into fishing but could be an idea as there's some great rivers and lochs up this way....
