well i must say i'm loveing my surf again after all the problems the last few weeks i fitted a second hand fuel pump today and it's running better than ever, starts on the button and is pulling like a train, also fitted a 5 bar oil cooler to the auto box and done away with it going through the rad and thats made an amazing difference to the gearbox it changes alot smoother now.
cheers to all the people who gave me advice over the last couple of weeks with the starting problems.

yeah was going to sell it, but was'nt realy worth alot with it's running problem so decided to stick it out and sort it and i'm glad i did,
yep bypassed the rad completely and it's made alot of difference to the box and the engine is running cooler now aswell, took it on a 60 mile drive today and it seems to pull alot stronger in all gears now
