  • What's the Stupidest Thing You've Ever Done?

Some self-deprecating humour wouldn't go amiss.

I've done gazillions of stupid things but the one I laugh most about is this one.

Recently my employer introduced electronic payslips but before that you received, via internal mail, the monthly payslips for your team and you then handed them out. A few years ago I was expecting to take a fairly hefty tax hit in one particular month and when the payslips for my team arrived I was desperate to find out exactly what sort of pittance I was expected to live off for the next 30 days. I ripped open the payslip, looked at the bottom line and let out a loud exclamation along the lines of 'how the fcuk am I supposed to live off this?'. Needless to say I'd opened the wrong payslip and the person whose payslip I had opened was sitting about three feet away. I could have crept under a stone as I handed the opened payslip to him saying 'I think this is yours'.

Guy rings me for a set of ignition leads for a Land Rover Tdi and also even asks me if i sell glow plugs. I ring the factory, who of course tell me diesels don't have leads, which i knew, but at the time didn,t click.
        Felt a bit stupid.

            Re

Mine would deffo have to be,

            1. leaving school too early!

            Followed by,

            2. getting into trouble with the Police when I was a teenager!

The biggest screw up I think I made up to this moment, is

            3. leaving the Army

I would of been into my 18th year now and only 4 to go until a full pension and lump sum at age 45.

            Hindsight is a great thing!

(oops just noticed that you wanted "humorous" replies!)

Will try to sift through them and post a few later!

Have driven my hubby's BMW tourer for many a year...and couldn't understand why it was spluttering the 40 miles to my sister's house...or even why it cut out a couple of times.....After a good nights sleep, bright eyed and bushy tailed...I recalled my trip to the petrol station the previous day...Oh...it doesn't drink petrol....it's ALWAYS been a diesel....WOOPS!!!!
