Hi All,
I just been reading through some of the "that's it I'm off" and "I've had enough" and "this forum is rubbish" type threads.
I must say, I've been a member here since 2005 and I cannot begin to explain how beneficial this site has been to me.
Y'see, I am a SURF enthusiast!
I LOVE my Surf and I want to know everything I can about her upkeep and maintenance etc. because I plan on having her a very long time!
I'm NOT just a Surf owner who has stumbled in looking for advice on how to fix a fault.
Although that's ok as well because 9/10 times they stay on because the forum is so good anyway.
Now, I am shocked and surprised how many people have been drama queens with the old, "this forum has gone downhill, I'm off" type rubbish.
Notably, it seems to be the longer standing members, the rest of us are content to hang around until everything is ok.
Sorry fellas if it ain't just your exclusive club anymore, as far as I know this forum is PUBLIC.
My point is this!
We all know who the trouble makers are!
We all know who jumps onto threads and flames people.
We all know that there a certain members on here who generally cause problems just simply because they think that they are entitled to.
There is a very simple way of finding out who is a troublemaker!
Just check their profiles and look at their previous posts, it makes very interesting reading!
Admittedly, I am not totally blameless!
I've had a few pops at a few induviduals on here, I will hold my hand up freely!
MOSTLY in self defence!
BUT!
I have also tried to make a serious contribution to this forum about my beloved Surf!.
If you don't believe me then look through my posts, you will see!
I personally don't give a stuff how long you have been here or who you are friends with, it does not give you the god given right to flame others, ridicule their grammar OR make them feel bad about having an opinion even if you don't agree.
We are all well aware of the "old pals" brigade on here, who are mates and know each other outside the forum which makes it very unfair when disagreements do arise.
Everybody disagrees on public forums, it is fact!
A minor disagreement between 2 members OFTEN ends up with a full "all in" slanging match when the "old pals" brigade arrive on the thread.

There is nothing logical about it, most times it is just crazy.
I've seen members on here flamed really bady for simply posting an opinion or even a thought on something they feel strongly about!
So, in conclusion!
This forum HASN'T "gone downhill" at all!
This forum IS still "as good as it used to be"!
This forum is still "BRILLIANT"!
BUT, unfortunately, the same cannot be said of some of the members!
You know who you are!
Arguing seems to be the only reason why you are here, this is the hobby of the "know it all".
(right now there will be a few of you frantically perusing my previous posts for something to start an argument with, or to flame me with - feel free! - Just proves my point!)
