1. We are not looking for any new moderators.
2. Was going to make the yellow or red cards visable but as already said I personally dont believe this will work as that person may well get goaded into getting in to a row.
3. It is not the fact that people disagree. It is more the fact that certain people can not do this civily without being personal and calling peoples names or just being plain derogatory about them/it. We will all disagree at somepoint but it can be done civily and constructively.
4. As for the newbies thing, yes they come on here and ask a question that has been asked many times before. Hell, how do they know that, they are new on here. The search button is not the friendliest in the world to use (we have tried to make it better belive me). If I put myself in thier position and joined a forum and asked a question and got a not so welcome reply I think I to would reply in a not to friendly manner. If its a question or post your not intrested in then move to the next post/thread.
5. Spelling grammar etc. Who gives a shit if someone spells something wrong or it was/is not grammatically correct. There may be a genuine reason for it.
6. We have tried to not get to involved and over moderate this forum and try and let things run their course. However it would seem that this can not at times be done, so from now on a stronger stance will be taken against people.
7. In getting a yellow card also entails getting points against you. The yellow card can be set to be in pace for a given period of time e.g. 14 days, if no further infringenments occur it will be removed. Whilst on a yellow card a further infringement it will upgraded to red, banned. However the points will remain in place. For example get a yellow card and three points, card expires and commit a further offence another 3 points, total 6. Amass 12 points and it will be a straight red, banned. Yellow cards wil be a suspension for a period of days deemed appropriate by asking a complete stranger to pick a number between 1 and 1,000,000 .
There will be no video playback, no fourth official, there will be no critique of the offence by three numpties sitting on some chairs. There will be no open discussion on what happened or who did what to who, with what implement and in what room of the forum. The offender will not pass the log in stage and will go directly to the sin bin. There will be no get out of the sin bin free sticker, no one will come along and tow you out the mire.

p.s: Might I just mention that I personally have absolutely no intention of changing my approach or tack. Just thought it might save you some time, having that info.Last edited by MattF; 25 November 2009, 07:06.

I kind of agree with the big picture in that there is no need for personal attack, however, I too do not agree with point 5. Everyone here has had at least 17 years to learn to use *their own* language properly. Even those here afflicted by genuine problems, or with another mother tongue at least attempt to get it right.
It may be because I am a generation apart from some of our younger members but I truly believe that this 'cant be ar5ed to do it right' philosophy, whether applied to spelling, grammer or anything else is generally a reflection on the attitude of the person in question to pretty much everything!
If you dont care that your point comes across clearly, then why would you care about anything else? This is an tiny indicator of all that is wrong in society these days. We cant be ar5ed. We expect that if we do the bare minimum, 'someone else' will sort it out for us.
Personally, I think that attitude stinks. If I want to get a point across, I try my level best to do so clearly. Granted, I dont tend to pick holes in someone's spelling - but that doesn't mean it doesn't annoy the hell out of me. I guess a lot of you think I'm nit-picking, but lets look at the state of literacy in this country in 10 years and then come back and tell me I was wrong. Anyway - I'm getting off track here.
I think the best approach I can take is to simply ignore the requests of newbies who dont make any sense to me, yes?Cutting steps in the roof of the world
